Day #48
I met this very lovely lady yesterday. She lives at the Sacramento Zoo in their new, wonderful giraffe area. Giraffes are my favorite large mammal. Isn’t she beautiful?

Day #46
I took this one at Pier 39 when we were in the City. It reminded me of the movie “Big” with Tom Hanks. Remember that one?

Day #45
I took this the last time we went to San Francisco. We were on Fisherman’s Wharf looking out towards Alcatraz.

Day #44
Sam & I went for a walk along New Brighton Beach in Capitola. She posed here so we could get a picture of the beach house in the background – the one with the blue doors. We both loved it and wished that it was our home.

Day #43
I love Sacramento. It’s second only to my sweet, friendly (& All American!!!!) city of Rancho Cordova. I think Sacramento has some of the most beautiful buildings around and it is truly a city of trees.

Day #42
This evening, Mark & I walked around J Street exploring. We went there so I could photograph the public art installation near the Convention Center and Community Theater. Sometimes art is found in unexpected places – even in a window reflection.

Day #41
I love it when my girls spend time together. The lazy, low key summer days allow for that. This morning two of them pulled out DDR…

Day #40
This is my daughter Samantha. We call her Sam or Sammy. She swam competitively for the first time this summer. Honestly, I didn’t even know if she could swim a full lap before this. And I found out that she can & she’s fast, too. She worked hard and gave it her all. In the season championships, she placed in the top 10 of all of the 11-12 girls in her freestyle events. Once again, I’m amazed by her….so proud!

I love her orange cap. It's so her. =)

Day #39
Since today is going to be over 100 degrees, I’m posting this to help us think “cool thoughts.” On Sunday, it felt hot so we head to the City for some cool (it even felt cold!) San Francisco weather. That’s my youngest in the photo.

My beautiful girl. She's in the middle of "pretend" I think.
